I want to efile my taxes but it's telling me to mail it

EDIT NOTE:  My original comment below was for if you are getting an error message preventing you from efiling.   If you are simply wanting to change filing methods from "file by mail" to efiling, the following doesn't apply.  In that latter case see Champ ee-ea's answer above.

1. Are you using Online TurboTax or desktop software (CD/download)?
2. Do you get that message when efiling a Federal return, state return, or both?
3. What exactly is the error message?
4. When you go through the REVIEW tab, is there any clue?

Oh, maybe I misinterpreted your initial question.  I thought you had a situation you encountered where it wouldn't let you efile.

If you simply need to know how to change the filing method from "file by mail" to efile, see the answer left for you by Champ @ee-ea above.

The answer I left above was if you were getting an error preventing you from efiling.

Im doing my taces from my ph9ne. When submitted my state it told me to mail it in never gave me a option to efile.

Did you efile the Federal return by itself previously?   If so, was it efiled recently, and has the Federal efile been accepted  for processing?   You cannot efile a state return by itself unless the Federal return has been accepted.

If that's your situation, then once the Federal efile has been accepted for processing, you should be able to efile the state return.
