Yes, my return has been rejected 3 times because of a duplicate 1099r it claims, but it's not a duplicate. It's from the same broker with the same information but it has 2 different account numbers.
it should work today
mine went thru yesterday
And it finally works!!
You DO NOT have to do the $0.01 trick anymore and can submit it as intended. I got a return accepted email just 21 minutes after the return sent confirmation email. So I can confirm that as of today, it is working!!
So the rest of us forced to alter our returns so they could be accepted should be able to ammend our returns for free right?
You can switch it back to how it should be and then refile an amended return on TurboTax.
My returns got rejected when I first submitted them, but after reading this discussion, I tried again (without making any changes).
My Federal return was accepted in under an hour; California took almost a day, but was accepted with no problem.
I had signed up for "progress status updates" on the issue and haven't heard anything at all - not surprising, I guess - but it seems to be fixed. And no, there were no updates to the TurboTax program on my computer during this time.
An update on my own post.
Looks like the duplicate SSN issue is happening because our returns combine both personal & SMLLC returns. After the first e-file CA LLC return got accepted before I received the Fed & CA state personal return rejections. Now when we try to e-file CA state, since TT UI does not provide a way to only file CA state personal and exclude the CA LLC filing, TT tries to file both resulting in the duplicate rejection likely from CA LLC. This is my own best guess, because TT customer service has not been able figure out anything on their end.
Anyway finally bit the bullet and snail mailed the CA state personal return.
Now that it seems like TT has fixed the original 'Duplicate 1099R' issue, wondering if I should e-file an amended Fed & CA return.
Does TT allow e-filing an amended return if we have snail mailed the original return. Has anybody tried this.
Ydsame issue for me, and I’m not happy about it. Why does the “Edit” button only allow you to add. Why in heavens name could you not delete from here!!!!??? I know it can be done, but it was done by help on a call. Does Intuit get money back if they cause you to be later on your taxes. I’ve paid 2-3 times for TurboTax this year. I will write and type down what two prior Intuit TurboTax Tax Peole-one was a Specialist and the other an Expert -told me over the phone and guided me there. Again, COMPLETELY un-obvious!! I’m in the queue for a call back in 60 minutes. I am physically at work, but I will take the call. I hope to get these taxes filed with this minor action.
Exactly!! Frustrating.
How do I find out the status of 1099s I efiled on 1/27/22?
@brucejmorr 1099NEC you prepared to give to people you paid? Using Quick Employer Forms? I don't know what receipt you get back. You may have to log into Quick Employer Forms to get the status. And you know you have to print out copies to give to the people.
Yes found it in the Quick Employer Forms FAQ.....
After e-filing your W-2 or 1099 form, please monitor your filing status on the Quick Employer Forms Home Page. The e-file status will update from "Sent" to "Accepted" or "Rejected" when the Government Agency processes the form. The status change may take up to 2 to 4 weeks. You will also receive a notification by e-mail when the status changes. For W-2 and 1099-NEC, e-file is due by January 31, 2022 . For 1099-MISC, 1099-INT and 1099-DIV, efile is due by March 31, 2022 .
Submitted mine for the third time (there are not and have never been any duplicates!) and waiting...
This problem still exists! I have filed with 2 IRA accounts with the exact same amounts and data in the 1099-R for years with no problem. Suddenly this year - 2022 - I get rejected for duplicate forms. Can TurboTax please respond about this problem?
