I have have elected to pay my balance using Direct Debit on 07/13/2020.
Nothing was taken from account yet, I am not sure why.
Account & Routing are correct and there's enough balance to handle payment.
from my tax return

If your tax return was accepted by the IRS with a payment and the payment was on or before July 15, 2020, then there is no issue. The IRS is just slow due to the massive numbers of tax returns received on or before the due date. It may take a few days before your bank account is debited by the IRS.

thank you.
I requested a direct debit be made on a certain day to pay my 2021 balance due, but thus far nothing has happened. I checked and my Bank has not debited my account and they don't seem to have any indication of anything pending. I called TT help center and they were NO help at all.
Other than sitting here waiting, is there anything I can proactively due to see if my payment is going to be made? I do not buy the excuse that the service is overloaded, as it is not like these are manual transactions. It should all be automated.
Turbo Tax is very good about advising about refunds, but is not very good about the very normal situation where you have a balance due. I cannot even find a place in the program to see the instructions I provided. That should be simple, but it is not.
Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.
It is entirely up to the IRS when they debit your account. Unfortunately there is nothing you can see or do concerning when the payment will be debited.
The bank information you entered and the date you selected for the payment to be made will be shown on the Federal Filing Instructions page and on the Federal Information Worksheet in Part V of the worksheet. You will need to use Print Center and the option for all worksheets.
To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state.
This will take you back to the 2021 online tax return.
Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen. Then click on Print Center. Then click on Print, save or preview this year's return. Choose the option Include government and TurboTax worksheets
Thanks, but this guidance didn't help. I am in Florida so there are no state taxes and I don't have the ability to "add a state" since I had no need to buy the version with states.
I clicked the hyperlink below, and it didn't take me anywhere that allowed me to see my returns. I did open Turbo Tax where my 2021 return is, but I don't see a "Tax Home" page. I don't have a Tax Tools option either (I am on my iMac) or a Print Center.
Can you please help with some better instructions?
The instructions provided were for the TurboTax online web-based editions.
If you have the 2021 TurboTax software installed on your computer then use these instructions to access the Federal Information Worksheet.
To switch to Forms Mode, open your return, and then select the Forms icon from the TurboTax menu (or select View, then Go to Forms).
The Federal Information Worksheet will display and all the forms in your return will be listed on the left side. Simply select a form to open it.
To switch back to the interview, select the EasyStep icon from the menu, or choose Go to EasyStep from the View menu.
Thanks, I am able to see that my instructions, account # and routing # are there. Now all I need is TT, the IRS and my Bank to actually do something.
I guess I have no choice but to wait until the end of the day or the next business day and hope it happens. What a system (fail). Here I am willing to pay 17 days early and I can't get someone to execute and take my money.
But thanks.
Can I ask another question?
If the account # truncated the last two digits (I am not sure why this happened, but the last two are not showing up on the form or the printed instructions), is there anything I can do to fix it or is it too late and I need to make the payment another way?
I am a bit mortified I may have entered the wrong # and the funds will be withdrawn from someone else's account if that is possible.
Depending on the date of your payment you may be able to cancel the payment and then pay the taxes owed on the IRS payment website.
Go to this IRS website for how to cancel a payment - https://www.irs.gov/payments/pay-taxes-by-electronic-funds-withdrawal
IRS payment website - https://www.irs.gov/payments
Thanks. The original payment can't go through, so I made another authorization then went ahead and called the IRS to confirm. Hopefully by Monday this will all be resolved. I will call my bank next.
Your quick response time is appreciated.
