Got the statement information does not match their records. I filed with Turbo Tax last 5+ years.
I am experiencing this same issue. I filed my 2019 taxes, via TurboTax, on April 2 and they were acepted April 3rd or 4th. In accordance to IRS 21 day processing Policy, I'm supposed to be able to call and investigate the status of my taxes begining the 21st day of electronic filing. After spending a lot of hours over the last week trying to inquire about this issue, I have not been able to onnect with anyone from the IRS via telephone. As for my Stimulus, I have not recieved it yet either. Each time I try using the IRS "Get My Stimulus" online tool the system tells me payment information not available. Someone please help make contact with a live IRS Representative, as Im laid off, due to COVID, has almost exhausted all my savings, and therefore need these monies badly.
the IRS is not answering the phones as they were closed the last 4 weeks due to COVID. they sent 10,000 people (of their 70,000) back to work on Monday, but the article I saw didn't say they were going to answer the phones.
From other posts, i do believe the stimulus will not be send until they complete processing your 2019 return.
here is the IRS FAQ:
Payment Status Not Available – We cannot determine your eligibility for a payment at this time. For example, this could mean:
I have been struggling with unemployment and the stimulus. I was on the 'Get my payment' portal multiple times with no success. At first they said something about being "unavailable". Then later it gave me the option to enter bank and tax info and followed with "info does not match records". All very frustrating. I will share what ended up working for me. FINALLY!! When it asked for your tax info, I was adding state and federal together and entering that number in. Today I only entered my FEDERAL ( I owed), but tried entering federal taxes paid or received instead of adding the two together. I hope this helps some.
And an added FYI, I also have heard if you have owed taxes vs getting a refund in the past, that has put the delay and frustration on getting access to the stimulus.
Good luck!
also wanted to add that I have not filed my 2019 taxes. I went off my 2018 taxes. So not having filed yet for the year should not affect your stimulus package.
@stacyo8379 - but what appears to be occurring, and i am gleaning this from reading 100s of posts, it appears the IRS to be prioritizing those that have submitted their 2019 tax returns
Any reason you have not filed? you can file now and pay on July 15 (or set up a payment plan).. I would encourage doing that.
the law says that the IRS MAY USE 2018 in lieu of 2019 tax information, but it doesn't seem like they are doing that presently
here is what the CARES ACT states:
ALTERNATE TAXABLE YEAR.—In the case of an individual who, at the time of any determination made pursuant to paragraph (3), has not filed 24 a tax return for the year described in paragraph (1),
25 the Secretary may apply such paragraph by substituting ‘2018’ for ‘2019’
Why every time i go to check my stimulus payment status its saying the records can not match my information?
How come my records dont match the irs get my payment status?
This is such a confusing and irritating situation we are all in. Everyone's situation is slightly different (some filed both 2018 and 2019 and still get the error). But I've also noticed something similar (I'm trying myself ) is that the people who seem to solve the problem are making the addresses and amounts EXACTLY how the IRS has it on their end. One tiny little thing that is different and it gives you the error message. I'm trying other people's suggestions like capitalizing everything in the address line or look at how the post office has it and copy that format...
helpful hints -
social security number must have the dashes included XXX-XX-XXXX
date must have leading zeros if necessary (e,.g. April is "04" not "4')
standardize your address :
@vtfan4life1004 Thank you so much for this information. I filed my 2018 late last year with extension and entered "0" for AGI and then entered the amount I owed (though it has been accepted and have transcript, etc). IT WORKED! Thank you, I also shared this tip on Facebook-Who knows how many people you just helped by taking the time to write your post. You rock!
Enter "0" as AGI and the amount you received for refund as a different member recommended above. It finally worked for me! I have been trying for weeks. Hope it works for you
Thank you sooo much. I was having this same problem. I added the dashes in for the social XXX-XX-XXX. Then i put 0 for the AGI as you recommended and IT WORKED!. Hopefully the refund will be deposited soon. Thank you again
This works! Have been trying for days. When I looked at 2018 taxes - I filed an extension. So the IRS received our return in October 2019. BUT - when I looked at the IRS site, they didn't process it until March 2020. So I entered 0 for our AGI. And then put in the amount we owed. Victory! Entered bank info and we will get a direct deposit. Thanks so much!!
Write you address on in all caps and use your 2018 tax return, if that doesn’t work use your 2019. I did that with mine today I was having the same problem, I put my address in all caps and at first my 2019 tax return wasn’t working so I used my 2018 and it went through .
