I believe you are correct. My routing and account number match on my Turbo card and 1040. But my 1040 shows no signs of fees being taking out like my whole refund was being sent to the turbo card even though I had fees and an advance taking out. So obviously there are multiple 1040s in circulation. One they send to the IRS, and one for our veiwing pleasure. So the IRS may possibly see a different acct & rout #. I hope that is not the case because that would delay the process and it is FALSIFYING GOVERNMENT DOCUMENTS. That maybe why they want give us a straight answer. They never enticapated this epidemic sanario and my have thought the devil would stay in the details. But hopefully not.
If you had fees taken out it went to SBTPG;. Mine is not listed with my downloaded return info yet this either. Go to SBTPG and click on taxpayer and type in your information, I bet it shows your deposit info there.
@Nawf if exactly right. Santa Barbra was used if fees applied and you will find yourself in there system on their website if so. I will try to locate the article from 2008 so you can have a reference point.
I understand that. But my 1040 still shows that my full refund would be sent to the routing and acct # that correspond to my turbo card which is FALSE. Look closely at your 1040.
@mrkprrt23 - sorry i respectfully disagree The Walmart card is specifically designed for Walmart as a full fledged virtual checking account. It works just like any checking account, but there are no checks. Read the details on the link....and note it's issued by Greendot bank!
SBTPG is in the tax fee business and one of their many clients is Turbo Tax. All their clients would follow the link I noted earlier
Walmart relationship and its link has nothing to do with this, in my view
Nonsense. Nothing is falsified. If you have your fees withheld, your refund deposit must go to a third party because no software vendor can receive a tax refund. It's done exactly according to IRS regulations.
@NCperson Also, if you go to SBTPG.com and scroll down (without clicking the Covid-19 link) It explains the Refund Transfer which is using your refund to pay for your taxes. That also mentions that the Walmart card is where your refund would be put as well.
In 2008, if you paid your TurboTax fees with your federal tax refund, you received your stimulus payment by mail. If you paid your TurboTax fees with any other means, such as a credit card of your own, and received a direct deposit for your tax refund, your stimulus payment was sent directly to your bank.
@NCperson I am not sure how you can confidently say that there is no correlation between the two when
1) it is on the SBTPG website.
And 2) It explains the Refund Transfer then says "Ways to get your refund!" With the Walmart Card being the only card specifically mentioned. I feel like at this point you are grabbing at straws.
If you add two and two together, SBTPG says you will get a check if you received your refund on a card through them. The card printed by them in multiple locations on the website is the Walmart Card, then one would assume that the Walmart card is the card that is issued through them
The fact that the TT card is a green dot card is neither here nor there. Green Dot is a big company. They have many cards for many occasions. I have received a green dot card as a pay card through work. That does not mean that the pay card is automatically associated with SBTPG or Intuit.
Paying a fee did not matter, only whether you paid the fee by having it withheld from your federal refund.
Yes; I know it has our greendot banking info, but people are saying that is added for our benefit after our taxes are filed. However, I have a copy of a tax return from two years ago before I filed and after and the direct deposit info is the same.
Good that means we should have no problems with direct deposit to the turbo card. Because the routing and acct numbers on the 1040 are for the IRS to deposit the money and not a 3rd party.
Bottom line if you got your refund on the turbo tax card then thats where your stimulus check going. Use your brain
That’s exactly right and Thats what I’ve been told this whole time
