Amending Tax Returns - Can't amend only MA return after filing both in both MA and RI (Error: 190)

I used TurboTax free file online in 2017 to file my federal return as well as two state returns, one for MA where I'm a resident and one for RI where I worked for part of the year.

I need to amend my 2017 federal return and my MA return but none of the changes affect my RI return so I don't need to amend that.

I've downloaded TurboTax Amend 2017 and have loaded my .tax file but I'm not able to proceed to amend without adding BOTH of my state returns (error: 190). I've added my MA return but the program asks for a $44.99 payment to add my RI return which I don't want to amend.

How can I amend just one state return and my federal return when I filed in 2 states in 2017?

You should be able to download the RI tax return at no charge.

• There's a fee to e-file your state return using TurboTax Desktop. 
• You cannot E-file a 2017 amended return.
