Amending tax return: amend return button does not work

In addition to the PDF copy, make a full (data) copy of the original 2025 filing as well in case you ever have to go into it again. There is a risk that in creating the amended return Ttax will wipe out the original file, so before creating the amended file, store the original in some exterior place like a flash drive where it will be untouchable. Be safer than sorrier...

Try using an incognito window to Sign In to your Intuit Account > Tax Returns and Documents > 2024 > Amend.

If this doesn't work, Contact TurboTax Support.  Explain your issue and they'll push you a download of the desktop program.

Remember, there's no rush to submit a 2024 amended return.  It takes up to 12 weeks to process whether you Efile or Mail, and probably won't be until this filing season ends.

Save a copy of your amended .tax2024 file if you need to transfer it to a 2025 return.

I do have the desktop version and have discovered that it's not worth bothering about the Amend button, I just go to the sub-menu Other Tax Situations. (Yes, amending a return really requires you to save a copy of the original file before you start the amend process!)
