Amended Tax Return Disappeared

I submitted an amended 2020 tax return in April if 2021. Still have not received it so I’ve been checking the “Where’s My Amended Return” feature on the IRS website. Now when I enter my information I get the message: “The information you have entered does not match our records. Please try again.” My information is definitely correct, is this just a bug or is something wrong now? Do I need to do anything? I can’t even get in contact with a person at the IRS to ask.

If your amended return was transmitted successfully to the IRS, then only the IRS would be able to provide information about your refund. The IRS website states that it is currently taking them more than 20 weeks to process amended returns.  If you previously had a status on  Where's My Amended Return? check back another time as high volume can cause an issue of the tracking site giving incorrect status results. Per the IRS website, IRS telephone assistors don’t have any additional information about your amended return while it is processing.
