But did you efile it?   IF you haven't efiled or mailed it you can try to undo it.

You can delete the amended return this way. Do the steps slowly and carefully. After you delete it then you need to manually take out the changes you made to put your return back to the original return.

If you used the TurboTax online editions -

To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state.

This will take you back to the 2020 online tax return.

Click on Cancel Amend on the left side of the online program screen.

If you did not mail or e-file your amended return that is not the reason why you are not getting the monthly CTC payments.   IF you have an amended return pending in the IRS system it affects your CTC payments, but simply preparing an amended return without submitting it would not be the reason you are not getting those payments.   So there may be some other mix up, which unfortunately is not a surprise.

The IRS is sending out those payments by direct deposit or by mailed checks or cards.

This is a brand new system thrown together by the IRS after Congress changed tax laws in the middle of the tax season.  There are going to be bugs, glitches and mistakes made and folks will unfortunately have to be patient (or endure aggravation and inconsistency) until they sort it out.

If you do not get all the monthly payments you can get the CTC when you file your 2021 tax return.
