I accidentally did the same thing. After i submitted my taxes I went back and checked every bank statement which was a pain and it turns out I had receive the 3rd stimulus. On my taxes I submitted that I didn’t receive the 3rd stimulus - honest mistake my memory is terrible I can’t even remember what I did last weekend. Anyways my taxes got approved. Anyone know what happens next?
The IRS will automatically adjust your tax return to remove the Recovery Rebate Credit you were not qualified for. Since the credit was incorrect, the IRS will calculate the correct amount of the Recovery Rebate Credit (if any), make the correction to your tax return and continue processing your return. You do not have to take any further action at this time or amend your tax return. The IRS will send you an explanatory letter describing the change shortly.

Awesome, thank you! I am still expected to receive a refund, do you know if this will delay my refund?
@janettrujillo77 Yes, this will almost certainly delay your refund as your return now has to be examined by a human in order to make sure that the stimulus payment really wasn't sent to you. You should anticipate that this process could take as long as 6 months.
I haven't filed yet , but I need to fix it. How do I return to that question? I've been searching all though deductions and rebate credits but I have no idea how to go back and fix it.
Follow these steps to get back to that screen:
@solangelv
@solangelv Go to Federal Review for the questions about the recovery rebate credit.
