I did the 5 days early option and was accepted 1/20 my spouse did not and was accepted 1/24, they have already received their taxes and I am still waiting for mine. Why is this and how can you claim that I’ll get it early if the standard way is actually quicker?

"5 days early" does not mean getting your refund in only five days.   It means you get the refund up to five days earlier than the date that the IRS shows you on the IRS refund site.    Your only source of information about when your refund will be issued is the IRS site.  What does that site show you?

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2025 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

I did not say I was expecting them in 5 days. I was curious of how my spouse filed theirs without the “5 days early” option and received theirs before mine.

I have been tracking on the IRS.

but also on turbo tax when you log in it says if you chose the “5 days early” option then you should be using the TurboTax refund status. “ you signed up to receive your federal refund up to 5 days early into your bank account, TurboTax will update your refund tracker and send you an email the day that the IRS approves your refund.” - direct from website.

Please reread my post I’m just asking how he received his return before me when he didn’t pick the early option. He got his more than a week prior to the “21 days” and I am 2 days till my 5 day early mark.

Again----only the IRS is in control.   Perhaps your spouse's return was so simple it was processed very quickly.    Only the IRS site can give you reliable information on when your refund will be released.   Look there for a date.   If you paid for "5 days early" and you do not receive your refund at least one day ahead of the date shown by the IRS on the IRS refund site, then you will not have to pay the $35.
