2025 Tax Return rejected missing form 8283

2025 tax return rejected due to missing form 8283.  When will it be available so I can file my 2025 tax return.

If using desktop software, run this morning's overnight update  (1 Feb)

Don't know if it's working Online yet..maybe already there, maybe by tomorrow.

OK!!!!, this morning's update  (1 February) "seems" to have fixed it....(at least for the Desktop software) And a weekend update is unusual.

BUT

 You may have to go thru the entries again if you haven't entered addresses yet for certain charities.

But look closely, I have no idea if it covers all of your situation.

Does anyone know when the online version is getting fixed for form 8283?

I’m using the online TT tool. 8283 is still not available. My return was rejected. The revisit function loops me back to the main rejection notice

Several other folks with the same problem, have said they were told the form won't be working properly &  ready in the "Online" software until 6 Feb.

After going through 4 customer service agents with no clear communication on when it will be resolved, I was given access to escalation manager.   The escalation manager couldn't find a date for availability of the form 8283 in the online version.   Per Turbotax customer service team I interacted with there was no clear date or related communication internally.   The tool says 31st January if one goes through "Fix the error"  route within the online tool.   I hope Feb 6th is the date.

My return has been rejected twice for this error code. First on Jan 28th then again today Feb 2nd. I waited until after Jan 31st to refile like the error code suggested but was still rejected. I'll wait until Feb 6th to refile again. Very frustrating experience!!!!

This is now fixed but you will need to follow these steps to generate the form and/or fix your rejection:

1. Sign in to your TurboTax Online account and select Fix my return.
2. Select Federal from the left menu, then Deductions & Credits.
3. Scroll down to Charitable Donations and select Revisit next to Donations to Charity in 2025.
4. You must review each non-cash donation entry. For any donation or group of similar items over $500, ensure you have provided:
5. The organization's name and address.
6. A description of the property.
7. The date you acquired it and how (e.g., purchase, gift).
8. Your cost or basis and the Fair Market Value (FMV).
9. Once you provide these details, TurboTax will automatically generate Form 8283.

If the form still does not appear in your Tax Summary:

1. Go to Tax Tools > Tools > Delete a form.
2. Check if there is a "ghost" Form 8283 or Charitable Contribution Worksheet that is blank. Delete it.
3. Go back to the Donations section and re-enter the details for the specific high-value items. This forces the software to re-trigger the form creation.
4. Once corrected, proceed to the File section to resubmit your federal return.
