Re: 1040x amended return issue

My daughter’s 1040-x came with a payment voucher but line 20 is blank. Line 21 says “amount of line 21 you want refunded to you” and has an amount. How can she get a payment voucher but also get refunded? It’s confusing. Help!

Is there an amount on the voucher?

If she definitely does not owe anything then you can just disregard that voucher.

can I get my refund from the IRS if it is being withheld due to two un-filed tax returns? Is there relief if the missing tax return balance is due to ongoing hardship?
