Question regarding TT fee/where is my refund

So, like so many other people, my federal refund seems to be stuck in some weird limbo.

I filed 1/24, accepted the same day. My taxes were correct. I owe nothing to anyone (no student loans, no child support, not the IRS - nothing!) The only credit i was eligible for was the other half of the CTC credit, as i was one of the people who did receive monthly payments for half the CTC amount in 2021. I understand that due to the PATH Act, the IRS was not legally allowed to touch returns that included the CTC until February 15th.

Anytime I inquire here what the hold up may be, I’m told it’s either because of an offset (which there is no offset, as I owe no one and no entity a dime), it’s because of the PATH Act (this fell off on February 15th so that’s no longer applicable) or it’s due to an error on my taxes (again, there were no errors. I’ve had professionals look them over to ensure this). What’s concerning to me is on TT’s Facebook page, I’m seeing many people say that they opted to have their TT charges for services taken from their federal refund. This is also how I chose to pay TT. They’re saying due to this, once they do in fact receive their federal refunds, not only is the amount they were expecting to be deducted is missing; but they’re also being charged additional amounts on top of that. With these complaints I’ve read through this morning, I’m also seeing where these people have tracked their refunds using the WMR tool. It’ll list a day for their refund and then they’re not getting their refund sometimes up to weeks later. They contact their banks and the banks say no direct deposit has been initiated so they need to speak with TT. And TT then tells them the problem lies within their bank. Just a fiasco! So, this is quite concerning to me because I’m left wondering if this might be why my federal refund has been held up. Others should be wary of this as well because as I’ve read, it’s affected so many TT customers - just a heads up!

I filed 37 days ago. The WMR tool has said the same thing since 24 hours after I E-Filed with TT, “your return is still processing.” Again, I don’t owe anything to anyone, my taxes were correctly done, I had a very simple return compared to most people, I didn’t try to claim a bunch of crazy credits I wasn’t entitled to or try to “pull one over” on the IRS to receive a larger refund. I filed and it was accepted the same day the IRS began accepting returns, 1/24. So, again I ask, what is the holdup in receiving this federal return? The IRS says on its website that those who filed early and claimed the other half of the CTC should’ve gotten their returns in bank accounts using direct deposit by March 1st. Today is March 2nd and my return hasn’t even been processed and approved. When you scroll down on the same page the IRS then says if you’ve claimed the other half of the CTC, your return could take anywhere from 90-120 days. For someone who is not a tax professional, like myself, this only fuels my confusion. Can anyone help or offer actual insight and not tell me the delay is due to an offset, an error when filing or the PATH Act, as all of those reasons have been ruled out repeatedly in my situation. Thanks in advance!
