Please help my refund has deposited into the wrong bank account

Just to clarify, does the account that your refund was deposited in still belong to you or does it belong to someone else? Banks won't deposit tax refunds into accounts where names don't match up.

I just found out the bank account the stimulas check was deposited was not mine . I called the bank and they said to report it. Is that all I can do?

 never had that account. I called that bank [ Bank of America ] and asked them about it. They said I never had that account number. I had changed banks in 2019 to Wells fargo

Sounds like it could be  fraud ... did you get the IRS letter yet stating what was sent where yet ?
