Pending after rejection

I e-filed & my federal was rejected by the IRS within 30 mins due to my IP PIN missing although i was never asked before I filed. I clicked fixed my refund through the email I received and it changed back from rejected to pending after a few hours. Now its pending longer than it was the first time & I am not sure if there’s going to be any progress on this. I’ve seen others experience similar issues and their refund was stuck in pending for over a month. Who can I contact to figure out if my error was fixed and resolved before I end up waiting longer to receive my refund

I experienced the same for this tax year, a rejection for missing AGI for the year 2023. Corrected the issue, it’s been well past 48 hours and it’s still pending. Very much Irritating

Did you enter your IP Pin before you refiled, @Mel S? If not, it would still be in Rejected Status.

The IP Pin will change each and every year. This is an Identity Protection Pin.

You can get an Identity Protection pin here, or if you lost your IP PIN, you can go here to Retrieve IP PIN.

Here's how you can fix a reject:

Sign in to your account and select the Fix my return button. Follow any “fix it” instructions to update the information causing the rejection.

Note: Not all rejections will have explicit guides to fix the information. You’ll need to navigate to the program area to address the cause of the rejection.

Time-saving Tip: If what you originally entered is correct, you won't be able to e-file. There's probably a data mismatch at the government, a dependent that's already been claimed, or some other situation beyond your control that prevents your return from being e-filed. In this case, your only option would be to print and mail in your return. This article will give you instruction on how to print and mail your return.

    Additional reject instruction here.

@CatinaT1 Yes, i went on the irs website and got the ip pin and entered the number. It stayed in the rejected status for a couple hours before it went back to pending. My concern is that it was quickly rejected before (less than an hour) after i filed the first time. Now it is pending with no indication of any action. Why was it so quick the first time? Also I was never asked to put my ip pin through the entire process even when I reviewed everything the system said it looked good and i filed. I just dont want it to be stuck pending and no one has an answers on where my refund is. Now its stating (because i choose to do an advance) that I need to fix my return to be approved for an advance. The link i was emailed to fix my return doesn’t direct me anywhere anymore & its stuck on pending so i am unable to make any changes
