Paying by Credit Card

I choose to pay by credit card and my card was charged almost immediately, but I believe I requested in Turbo Tax that they pay my taxes on April 15th.  Is this standard practice and how will I know if the credit card processor actually paid my taxes?

Are you sure it wasn't for the Turbo Tax fees?  Those are charged as soon as you enter the credit card.

It was for both the fee and the taxes owed.
