I filed my tax return. And I'm not used to having two W2's to file. The final W2 just arrived. I know I will need to file an amended return. But I have read several articles online that all suggest that I should wait until the expected refund ($8100) comes out. I began another mock tax return (without submitting it officially of course, since I've already submitted my tax return), just to see if they're still will be a refund do, and with both W2s, it comes out to be about$6,500 less of a refund. That's probably what I would loan. My question is since the IRS has already accepted my return, won't they just make the adjustment themselves so I won't have to file the amended return? Please advise.

Sometimes the IRS will catch the mistake immediately. That's why it is important to not amend until you receive the refund.
