Ok, so I already filed...but i just received a 2nd 1099-sa which is from a bank that owned my companies HSA for only a small part of the year. It's only $69,should I amend

My employer apparently changed banks for my HSA shortly into 2016 and I just received a 1099-sa for $69 after the one the used for the whole year was used to file my taxes and it was for $852. Do I need to amend for such a small $ amount? Or will I be fine letting it go? Will this affect my refund?

If I should amend for such a small amount should I do it now - before I receive my refund, or wait till after I receive my refund?

Yes, you will need to add the additional 1099-SA form. The IRS will be looking for it's match on your return (tiny though it may be).

If you have already filed your return, you must wait until the return is accepted/rejected. If rejected, you can go ahead and add the 1099-SA.

If you have already filed your return and it is accepted, then you will need to amend it to add the 1099-SA form. However, wait until the original return is fully processed. If you had a refund/tax payment due wait until you receive the refund or the payment is processed.

Do not make any changes to your original return in the meantime. This can really mess things up. The IRS amend form is not ready until mid-February. When it's ready, check the link below for directions to amending your return.
