Nothing ... you need to do Nothing.  This is normal.

From the IRS:

WHERE’S MY REFUND STATUS BARS DISAPPEARED

"We have gotten many comments and messages regarding the IRS Where’s My Refund Tool having your orange status bar disappearing. This has to do with the irs.gov where’s my refund site having too much traffic and lagging. This is causing images not to display and information about your federal tax return to not show up. This has happened every year since the tool was first available. This has nothing to do with you being flagged or your return being denied. Status Bars Disappeared for many Americans who filed early.

This also can have to do with your browser settings as well as your cache. Please try using a different browser such as Chrome or Firefox. Also clear your cache in your browser settings."

See the video in this link for a really good explanation of the process:

The longer i have to wait on IRS TO DO THEIR JOB the more complaints i make to the Department of Treasury on their lack of professionalism. I understand that they are understaffed and all but there is no excuse for misinformed employees at IRS to not do their job as a governmental organization. The longer i gotta wait the more pissed i get and the more i contact Department of Treasury to inform them Of IRS' negligence. Trust me the more you complain the more they are prone to do what they're supposed to do.

The IRS website says that if your bars dissappear it means that your return has to be reviewed manually before a refund can be issued.

@bostress where on the IRS website have you seen this info? I'd love to read and view that myself. Can you provide the link that goes directly to this info?

All I'm saying is in regards to the answers given.

The same thing happened to me, because the irs put a hold on my account. They think I've had identity theft, so they're holding it and the tracker says "processing."

Nothing to do with the traffic.

I wish you luck though.

This is normal. Once your refund has been accepted, it's now in the government's hands and has passed the initial inspection. The next step is for the government to approve your refund. The IRS issues most refunds in about 21 days, although some returns take more time to review. The anticipated date for the IRS to start accepting returns is 1/27 and anyone with the EIC or ACTC will not process prior to 2/15. The link provided below can assist you with tracking your return:

My return was accepted on 01/27. This is my first year filing married-jointly. We didn’t claim EIC or ACTC. Up until today my refund bars were showing however I logged in this morning and now they are gone. I have no idea why

It can be totally normal to not have an indicator bar. The IRS is currently catching up on a backlog of returns that were filed in January so they're not able to report as quickly.

Please refer to the following help article for more information about refund timing.

To the woman that said, “If your bars disappeared, you’ve been flagged for review?” Lady, no it doesn’t. THAT totally depends on the code following said “disappearance.” I’d highly recommend doing your research before commenting Karen.

The IRS is telling tales. When that happens you would have to call to verify your identity and tax info.  Sometimes you won't get that letter to verify because they don't do their jobs. Just call AND TELL THEM THAT YOU ARE CALLING TO FINISH PROCESSING YOUR CHECK THAT NEEDS VERIFICATION.

THANK ME LATER

The blue bar is used to track the refund status inside the program. It will fill in more as your return and your refund are processed and then sent. When the blue line is complete, it means that the IRS has accepted your return and sometimes it can disappear when updating but this is nothing to cause concern.
TurboTax tracks whether your federal tax return as been accepted or rejected, and gives an estimate on when you can expect to receive your tax refund. You can track your federal refund here: Where's My Refund? Make sure you wait at least 24 hours after acceptance before using WMR. Please note that the IRS issues most refunds within 21 days of your return being accepted.
The IRS Where's My Refund? lookup service provides a specific, personalized date for your tax refund.
