I am aware that I should not had the rebate on my return.  That was due to an error in how I answered the stimulus question on TurboTax.  Only one stimulus check was received for us in 2020, not 2. I guess I'll wait to hear from the IRS and try to amend then.

This is a continuation of prior communications.  My tax status is showing "accepted".  Should I still wait to hear from the IRS about making an amendment on my 2020 tax return?

Yes wait for the IRS to finish processing your original return.  They will adjust it for you.  You do not need to amend.
