I amended my return because I forgot to add a 1099-R that came in the mail...but this amount is not taxable with no change in the status of my original

Can I still e-file the amend?

No, you can not e-file an amended return.  It must be mailed and it would take the IRS up to 12 weeks to process it.

If you actually went through the amend process, you should not print or mail it until your original return is processed and your refund received or money owed is processed.

If you mean you just went into your return and made a change and the return hasn't actually been paid for or transmitted yet, then you didn't amend it, you just changed it and you can still e-file it.
