No - In New Mexico, food stamps are NOT included in your income, so don't include them in your return.

Food stamps are never claimed on a federal tax return. I don't know about New Mexico state tax return laws.

Does this count also if you received food stamps for most of the year?

Also what about medicaid benefits received do I include any of these?

Thanks in advance!

No, you don't need to include food stamps or Medicaid on your federal tax return.  Neither is considered income.

If your state is one that requires residents to indicate that they have health insurance, be sure to answer "yes" in the state questions for the time you were covered by Medicaid.
