I had to amend my federal return, but not my MN return.
When I printed my 1040X papers, both federal and MN printed. Do I send both to the IRS? Or only the federal 1040X paperwork since that's the only one I'm amending?

No. Do not send any state documents to the IRS, they are not interested in those documents.
Send only the Form 1040X and any form or schedule that contain a change.
