Yes, The IRS have backlog of income tax returns to be processed due to forms needed to be updated and/or processing of stimulus payments. The IRS started processing electronically filed income tax returns on a first in, first out basis in February 12, 2021 The refunds are processed within 21 business days after IRS acceptance of the electronically filed return.
If you haven't received your federal refund, you may continue to access the IRS website under Refunds tab to check the status of your return.
You could get a free tax advocate involved and file a form 911 claiming you are about to experience financial hardship. Look up the form and where to fax it to. The tax advocates are located within the IRS. Apparently they are helpful.
