Well my federal and state have been pending for 5 days now. Its pretty ridiculous. I filled tax form 8936 and pretty way was told that because I filled with turbo tax that's why it's still pending. So definitely never filling with them again.
And on top of all of that. IRS hasnt received my efile at all So obviously turbo tax is the issue.
I filed 8936 too.
Many people filed 8936 electric car have the same problem.
Are you a robot? Because if you are human, you idiots must be some of the most incompetent people I've ever seen.
@Racedawgwell lets see here, the IRS doesn't work on weekends. Monday was a federal holiday so nobody was in the office. Today is the first full day that they can get to your return. Breathe. Mine was accepted 48 hours after i filed. 48 hours. You're sitting at less than 24. Come back on Thursday, and let me know if your return got accepted yet.
There is something wrong with the turbotax system cause that keeps happening to everybody
My sister filled the same day 30 minutes later than me.. Was accepted same day using HnR block.. Both her state and federal was accepted.. Neither of mone has.. Thinking maybe turbo has a glitch.. Have never waited this long..
It may take longer than the usual 24-48 hours in some cases for your return to get accepted. See this FAQ regarding What does pending mean?
Theres a first time for everything. it took me a full 48 hours to get accepted. You haven't even waiting a full 48. Weekends don't count. and neither do federal holidays aka yesterday aka monday. Breathe.
I filed my taxes return January 25th 2020 and was approved January 27th 2020 I received my state in feb 11th but my federal is still pending as of feb 28th but friends I know filed last week and received both the next week
@Shakirabratton "Accepted" and "approved" are not the same. You are still waiting for approval apparently.
You are always going to find someone else whose refund arrived faster, and someone who waited even longer than you. That is the way it goes. Returns are not processed “first in — first out.”
TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.
Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 20 of your Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
To track your state refund:

On the IRS site you are also offered the use of an app called IRS2Go

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

I know your fed return is NOT still pending since the state return processed ... a state cannot be accepted before the fed is accepted. So have you checked with the IRS directly ?

If over 21 days since being Accepted by the IRS and the tax refund is still Processing you can call the IRS and speak with an IRS agent concerning your tax refund.
Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.
Then press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
It should then transfer you to an agent.
