My return failed to save. anyway I can retrieve it

My computer shutdown overnight for no reason but it did not save my return.  Do you know of any way to retrieve it.

Are you using the Desktop program?

Your tax return file ends in .tax2019.  Search your computer for it.  Check the Recycle Bin or Trash.  Check in One Drive, etc.  it should be in your Documents then in the Turbo Tax folder.  Check your backups.

If you don't have the main .tax file you might have one that starts with a Tilde sign ~ like  "~your name.tax2019".  That file is if your computer crashes or your real file gets lost or deleted or corrupt so you can restore it.

If you were using the CD/dowload product installed on your computer to prepare your tax return, there is no way to retrieve an unsaved return that was lost due to a shut down before saving. You are urged to save your return frequently when using the program installed on your computer.

This didn't work and I was sure I had saved it while preparing it.  But its gone and I have to begin again.
