Missing Federal tax refund of $7000

Good morning,

I really would appreciate some help. I filed my taxes (state; South Carolina and Federal) on Feb 5th through TurboTax and both returns were immediately accepted. My State Tax Refund for 2021 was deposited in my account on February 16th 2021, but I am still waiting to receive my Federal Return of $7000+. When I check on its status using the IRS Where's My Refund tool, it tells me that the Federal Return was deposited in my account on February 16th... but it is not there. I have spoken with my bank and they have no record of that deposit being made, only for my State return.

I feel completely stuck, as I don't seem to be able to get in touch with a human being at the IRS and all roads just seem to point me to the Where's My Refund tool, which just tells me it was deposited... but it wasn't. I don't know what to do next.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you chose to have your Turbo Tax fees deducted from your refund, you can check the status of your refund using this link.

Thank you. I have followed the links you provided on the IRS side a number of times, and all it tells me is that the check was deposited on 2/16/2021... however, the TPG link took me somewhere new and provides a little more insight. According to that link, it clearly states that my state return was direct deposited, but also substantiates that the status of my Federal return is different... here is what it looks like:

If you requested to have the TurboTax account fees deducted from your federal tax refund, the IRS will send the refund to a third-party processor (SBTPG) to have the fees and the service charge deducted. SBTPG will deduct the TurboTax fees plus the service charge and then attempt to direct deposit the remaining refund balance into the account that you entered on your tax return.  For questions about the status of your refund, you will need to contact SBTPG, toll-free at 1-877-908-7228 or go to their secure website
