line 30 on fed tax

on line 30 on the income tax form it asked if  I had received any cash for rebate I sad no .  but I did and  they sent me a letter  that I have.  do I need to file a ament

The IRS knows that you were sent the 3rd stimulus payment.  They will adjust your tax return accordingly.  If you are owed a tax refund this will cause the refund to be delayed by several weeks or longer.

You do not need to file an amended tax return.

No do not amend.    The IRS will cross check and catch your mistake.   Your refund will be lower--they will take away the amount you put on line 30 by mistake.  Expect a delay in receiving your refund.
