How much longer should I wait after I e-filed (Federal and California) on Saturday (3/23/19) if my returns are still pending on 3/28?

The email from Turbotax had an estimated acceptance date of Monday (3/25). It's now Thursday, and my returns still show as pending. How long should I wait? What should I do if the returns continue to sit as pending?

It can usually take anywhere from 24-48 hours, but this year it seems to be taking much longer for returns to get accepted and begin processing. Until the IRS starts processing it on their own, you may not find record of it or the website may say that you have put in incorrect information when tracking your federal refund. As your return moves through the system, the status of it will be updated accordingly. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do except wait until the IRS accepts your return.
