Many IRS workers have retired or been laid off and not been replaced. The IRS normally hires many extra people for tax time. That did not happen this year. The government will be working with far less workers and we will no longer get things done as quickly as in the past. Most returns are finished within 21 days, even with less workers but we were accustomed to much quicker turnaround.
The IRS has stated that the typical time to process a tax return is 21 days, but there may be delays for many reasons.
TurboTax can only project the time to get your refund. The IRS has the real control.
You can check the status of your tax return. You will need:
Please click here to enter your information Check Your Refund .
If you wish to contact the IRS, you can call toll-free at 800-829-1040
You can also Check your State Refund.
Be sure that your return status is Accepted
Other reasons your refund can be delayed
Just to be clear. If your taxes are Accepted it is a good thing.
Update..... I'm still waiting on my deposit and I have verified all of the information. The personal information is correct and the banking is also correct..... I have not received anything....

So the IRS "Where's My Refund" tool tells you that the refund has been sent? If so, the IRS website also says to allow up to 5 days due to differences in bank procedures.
Are the funds supposed to go directly from the IRS to your bank account? Or did you choose to pay any TurboTax fees out of your Federal refund? If you chose to pay any fees out of the Federal refund, the funds will go first to a third-party intermediary bank, where the fees are subtracted. That intermediary bank then sends the rest to your bank (or card) in a second direct deposit. If you DID use that method, the company that handles that is SBTPG, and you can check on it at SBTPG's website. To log into their tool, choose the "For taxpayers" portal at:
https://www.sbtpg.com/
NOTE: If you did NOT use that option to pay fees, then this paragraph does not apply to you.
I have actually attempted several times to reach out to this bank.... There's no account for me apparently.... "I'm being punked".... I have to be..... What in the world is going on?..... Why are we expected to hurry up and wait for funds we already paid tax on.... I'm still waiting that's going to be it I'm guessing at this moment....
