Irs letter states verifying accuracy

I filed my tax return Jan 27.  I received a w2 from an employer that I only worked for 2 weeks, so that w2 was not added to my return. Should I amend??? Considering I got a letter stating that they need to verify accuracy and could take up to 60 days! Help?!

Yes, all income must be reported. It depends whether you need to file an amended return.

You may be able to directly respond to the notice by calling the IRS instead of submitting the amendment. This will save time and resolve any penalties and interest accruing for underpayment faster.

Before you call, I recommend starting an amendment in TurboTax so you know if you owe anything more, This will prepare you for what the IRS will say you owe and save you time if they do want you to amend the return. If they are willing to resolve the issue by your response to the notice, then you can cancel the amendment in TurboTax on the left menu.

Here are the steps to amend 2019 tax returns.

Thanks! My letter states that I do not need to take any action and not to contact them until 60 days from the dated letter!  I did amend on turbo but have not mailed it. I would owe 200 dollars. My return should be over 4K. It is my money, so this is very irritating. But I was advised to wait until I receive my return and if the amount isn’t automatically adjusted, then to mail my amend. So still waiting for my return.....

very frustrating.
