IRS is holding my refund of 11,270. they are requesting either: 1- copies of pay statements or check stubs that indicate the date, gross income received and withholding

2- a notice on company letterhead from employer that indicates dates of employment, wages paid and withholding deducted and/or 3- statement of benefits on retirement income indicating the date issues, gross amount, taxable amount and withholdings. My question, can't I just send my (and wife's) W2s?
