We imported my wife's W2 using a Turbotax partner, and the information was correct in TurboTax when we filed. However, our state refund was delayed, and when we contacted them, they said the imported W2 had $0 in the state taxes box. We had to fax over a copy of our W2 to fix it.
Please explain why this happened, and also if it could be the reason that our federal refund is also delayed. We're having a hard time contacting the IRS to find out the reason for the delay.

@wynand32 - did you paper or efile? Paper returns are probably backlogged a good 6 months per internet articles.
Thanks for the response. We e-filed.
Yes you always should double check the imported W2. It might have imported wrong. Do you have a copy of the actual W2? Check boxes 15-17. Is it for the right state and right amounts?
That shouldn't affect your federal unless the federal W2 amounts imported wrong too. The IRS is just taking a very long time to process returns this year. Just keep waiting.
As I said in the original post, I checked the W2 after it was imported, and everything was correct. I just checked the file again and it's correct in TurboTax. However, when the state (California) received it, the state taxes paid box was set at $0.
They said it's something about the way that TurboTax does the import and the state can't accept the information because it can be changed by the user (?).
And yes, I'm wondering if the same problem could have happened with the federal return.
