I forgot to include my stock sales on my original form so I began the amendment process. Do I also need to amend my state taxes? If so, what do I answer for Line F on the IL 1040-X form?
It's the line that reads:

Yes you do need to amend the state return to include the stock sales.
In reviewing Form 1040X, I couldn't find line F
It's the line that reads:

Thanks, I don't know anything about IL state taxes.
From what you posted, it appears you should perhaps wait to file the IL amended???
But, I would check the box for Federal Amended. It asks for for date accepted which leads me to believe they want you to wait until Federal accepts amended...what do the instructions for Line F say? Otherwise I would put in filing date.
Thanks for the responses!
The instructions for that line say:
"
Line F – Check the box that describes your change. The date needed for
- federal changes that resulted in an overpayment is the date you
received a federal finalization notice from the IRS stating that they have accepted your change either by paying a refund or by final assessment, agreement, or judgment, not the date you filed your federal Form 1040X.
- federal changes that resulted in a tax increase is the date you filed your federal Form 1040X and paid the tax due. Failure to provide this date could result in an assessment of a late-payment penalty."
"
This is my first time doing any of this, so it's all new and confusing to me. I filed everything on Apr 5th if that helps anything down the line.
