Regarding a message Turbotax sent back to me, after I electronically filed, saying that the IRS rejected my tax return because of a problem with the AGI. The issue is not the AGI, but rather the question is, whether or not my credit card has already been processed for payment???? (I cannot find anything that Turbotax has sent me saying the payment was rejected by the IRS too). If so, should I mail in a paper 1040 to the IRS? And do I get a receipt from Turbotax that Turbotax has made payment to the IRS ? Or does that require payment (like a check), to be attached with the tax return? If it requires a payment to be attached to the tax return, how do I go about canceling the payment made to my credit card? Please reply soon!

If your credit or banking information was on your tax return, and the tax return was rejected, then nothing was sent to the IRS. They do not have your payment. The payment was not made. TurboTax does not make the payment for you or send it separately if it did not go with your tax return.
If it was rejected for AGI—-be aware that many 2020 returns took so long for the IRS to process that your 2020 AGI might not be in the IRS system. Try using zero instead.
If filing with zero is rejected then file again but select the option that you did not file last year. The IRS does not see that question and it will allow you to e-file with no AGI question.

If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.
When a return is rejected no information is sent to the IRS (or State). TurboTax does not make your payments, once your return gets accepted, then it is the IRS who deducts the payment for taxes owed. TurboTax does not get any additional information about the processing of your return or when a payment is deducted by the IRS.
If you are being rejected for your AGI, try using a Zero for the 2020 AGI. Once your return gets accepted, the IRS will receive your payment information.
All taxes owed must be paid by April 18th to avoid a penalty and interest.
Thank you for the info about AGI, but I have already tried all those avenues a number of times, like either entering "0" or not indicating I have had an AGI from last year. That may have worked last year, but it certainly doesn't work this year. It has really gotten to be a hassle to file electronically to get hung up on AGI, not to mention, unsure whether Turbo Tax vendors have or have not processed the credit card information. So it leaves me with no other choice than to simply mail my return in instead, and cancel any charges made to the credit card..
Yes I can confirm that if your efing was rejected by the IRS and you paid via credit card, it will take 5 business days for the authorization hold to cancel from your credit card.
