Assume within 48 hours.  it can be quite quick.

No one here can predict with any accuracy how long it will take the IRS to debit your account.  It is up to the IRS, and since this is the filing deadline, it could take hours or days.   All you can do is make sure the funds are available in your account and watch your own account.  You will not get any feedback from the IRS to tell you that they took out your money, and TurboTax is never updated by the IRS in regard to your payments.

Ways to pay your tax due:

If you have federal tax due you can pay by mailing your payment with the 1040V voucher, (which has the address printed on it, having the payment taken out of a designated bank account, or you can pay directly on the IRS website.

You must pay your state tax due using the state’s preferred method of receiving payment.  For most states that will be by making a payment to the state’s own tax website, or by mailing a check or money order.

@xmasbaby0 giving the speed of electronic banking these days, it should be quick.  That is why I stated 48 hours - tops.  I wouldn't assume any longer than that risk an overdraft.

1) file today and the IRS has the banking information tonight.

2) tomorrow night the IRS sends the ACH file to the individual banks

3) the next day the Banks debit the individual bank accounts.

so filing on Mondy and the debit could occur as quick as Wednesday.

48 hours - tops (i used to work at a large US bank and the demands to get the money to the IRS is quite fierce).

@NCperson I do not want to make any promises or predictions to users for how quickly their accounts will be debited.  I have fresh memories of April when there were users asking more than a week after e-filing when their account would be debited.
