I was told I would be given a year of Quickbooks after I filed my taxes with Turbo Tax. I never did receive a code.

There is no code. Just use the instructions here to activate that trial. 

If you paid for TurboTax Self-Employed, where QuickBooks Self-Employed is included as a trial subscription through April 2018, you can activate your QuickBooks Self-Employed account by logging into QuickBooks Self-Employed using your same TurboTax Self-Employed User ID and password.
