I sent in $1000 with my Form 4868. How do I enter that now in my 1040?

Where can I enter $1000 that I sent in with my Form 4868 before April 15th?

To enter the payment you made with your extension, type "federal extension payment" (without the quotes) in the Search box, then click the link that says "Jump to federal extension payment." That takes you to the screen that says "Estimates and Other Income Taxes Paid." Scroll down a little to the second section, "Payments with Extension." Click the Start, Update, or Revisit button for Payment with 2023 federal extension.

Or you can do the following.

• Click the Federal Taxes tab.
• Click Deductions & Credits.
• Click "I'll choose what I work on" (if asked).
• Scroll down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid.
• Click the Start, Update, or Revisit button for Other Income Taxes.
• On the "Other income taxes" page, click the Start, Update, or Revisit button for "Payment with 2023 federal extension."

The amount you paid with the extension will appear on Schedule 3, line 10.
