I received my federal taxes but not my state yet. It says they where both accepted but I have not get my new York state back... does state take longer than federal?

Yes, your state tax refund may be received after your federal refund due to the state return will not begin processing until after the federal return has been accepted.

Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities,  There is no rule as to which one will come first or how much time there will be between their arrivals.
