I received a refund in 2024 (on top of my 2023 refund) for an amendment to my 2022 taxes. Would i only add up the tax withheld on the W-2 i amended, or all W-2s from2022?

Where are you trying to enter any of that?  What are you trying to do?

It’s under Your Income. It has a section for state and local tax refund summary. It has my 2023 return already there. But there’s a question for if I received another refund in 2024, and I got one for an amendment I did for my 2022 taxes. I didn’t recieve a w-2 in 2022 and had to amend it when i filed my 2023 taxes. When i go to add another refund it asks for the total of all my payments and withholding. In the about section of that question it includes amounts withheld on w-2. I’m just not certain if 1: my amendment refund counts as another refund i received in 2024 that I need to include or 2: if it does count, would I need to add up tax withheld solely on the W-2 I amended or for both of the w-2s i received in 2022

Did you get a 1099G or 2 for the state refunds?

A State Tax Refund is taxable if you itemized deductions on that prior year's federal return and took a deduction for state income taxes instead of the sales tax. You got a deduction benefit for it so now you have to include it as income. If you took the Standard Deduction it is not taxable and you don't need to report it. Check your 1040 line 12 to see which deduction you took.

I didn’t receive a 1099G. What’s the indication on line 12? I’ve got a number there, but I’m unclear on what the indication for it being itemized vs standard would be

On the left hand side of your federal tax return, you should see a box that says "Standard Deduction for-". Check that box for the standard deduction that corresponds to your filing status for that year. If the amount in box 12 corresponds to your standard deduction, your state tax refund is not taxable.

If you don't remember what your filing status was, look at the very top of the return above your name and social security number. There will be a box checked that tells you your filing status.
