I received a CP301 from IRS. What is this and do I need to do anything?

I was sent a notice but no activation code, concerning back taxes for 2020. I wanted to postpone a payment plan due to my starting chemotherapy for a tumor recently found. l have tried calling as well, can't get through to anyone for help with this matter. The total I owe is $2,143.78. can you help me  PLZ ?

only the taxpayer or an authorized agent can change it if the IRS agrees.

I received a letter from the IRS to ID myself can I use my IRS account to do so

What kind of letter was it, @mlk5665?   Use this service only if you have a:

• You received a 5071C letter, 5747C letter, 6331C letter, or 5447C letter and your financial and phone information is U.S. based, or; 
• An IRS representative directed you to use it

If you received a 4883C letter or a 6330C letter, follow the instructions on the letter.  You can't use this online service.  

To register and verify your identity, you need:

• Photo identification, if you don't have an existing ID.me account or IRS username, and
• The Form 1040-series  tax return  for the year shown on the letter
  • Note: A Form W-2 or 1099 is not a tax return

Return (Turbotax) rejected. CP301  Only thing I rec'd this past year was notice, but so far no one has been able to help me   I don't know how to get the right pin.  As far as I know I never applied for IP pin  and never rec'd one. How do I correcgt this?
