I paid TurboTax in previous years to keep my documents but I don't see them, only option is to upload documents...why does anyone use this bs company

See title, I used turbo tax since I was 16, not every time did I have to pay to file, but from what I remember I had all my documents from previous years available even if I didn't pay.  2 years ago I tried to file and TurboTax was screwing me over, 1 w2 form and was making me buy deluxe, but not the 30 dollar one, it was over 100...then the app kept changing my answer to the question of "did I receive the family stimulus" I answered yes the first time cause I didn't know only families got it (it was called something different not family stimulus) after realizing I didn't get that, I went back to change it to no yet it was still acting like I owed that 200 plus the 100 for the deluxe...now it's screwing me over with all my documents gone, only option under documents and w2 is to upload one, whereas in previous years I'd see the documents from my other tax returns....again I'll ask...why the hell does anyone use this company anymore

You have to access your own account and/or  print it for yourself using exactly the same account and user ID that you used when you prepared the return.

Start a 2023 return online and enter some personal information  so that the menu on the left opens up and lets you access your past year returns.

Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them.  Log out of the account you are in now.

Or did you use the desktop version of TurboTax?  If so, the files are on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive.

You can get a free transcript from the IRS or for a fee of $43, an actual copy of your tax return.

SAVE YOUR TAX RETURN !

EVERY year before mid-October you should save a copy of your tax return as a pdf and print a copy of it for your records.  That way you will not be searching online frantically when you need it for a lender, FAFSA forms, your next tax return, etc.

NOTE:  TurboTax and the IRS save returns for seven years.  Returns older than seven years are purged.
