I need to start a new 2023 tax return, and already purchased Delux for 2023, but cannot find option on starting a new return for the previous year

Once you install TurboTax for 2023, you'll have the icon on your desktop.

Click to open the program, choose 'Start a New Return' from the FILE menu at the top.

if you have a .tax2022 file on your computer, once you enter a few pieces of info into the 2023 program, TurboTax asks if you want to transfer a prior year.

Otherwise, it will not ask about a prior year, as it assumes you are preparing a 2023 tax return.

AND.....if you are needing to actually prepare a 2021 or 2022 tax return, you cannot use the 20323 program for those.

Each year has to be purchased and prepared separately....and 2023 and earlier years have to be mailed in by you at the post office.

2020 and before can no longer be prepared with software...for those you would have to go to a Professional, or get the paper forms from the IRS and fill them out manually.
