I need that proof for 2020 taxes.
Once your returns are accepted, only the IRS and the state knows when you will receive your refund. The IRS does not provide your refund status to TurboTax.
You can check the IRS website Where's My Refund for your federal information.
If you have a state refund, visit the How do I track my state refund page, and then select your state.
I need proof that my state and federal taxes were filed for 2024.
Yes,
@wandahaug Did you use the Online version or the Desktop program? Did you efile or mail it? If you efiled was it Accepted? When you efile you get back 2 emails. The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile. Check back though your emails and spam/junk folder.
When you log into your account you should also see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc. What does it say?
If you efiled there should be an Electronic Postmark page saying when you filed and when the IRS accepted it. Probably near the end. That is your proof and signature. If you print out your return to give someone you will have to sign it in ink for them now.
How to get or print a copy after filing, Save the PDF

If your account says Printed or Ready to Mail that means you have to actually print out your tax return and mail it to the IRS yourself. So it has not been filed yet. And it will always say Ready to Mail. Turbo Tax doesn’t know if or when you mailed it and the IRS doesn’t update Turbo Tax when they get your mailed return.
