Wow how did you get through to the IRS. I've been trying since March 18th got no where..my refund still being processed..IM AT MY ENDS wit same message everyday.
I'm in the same boat almost. Didn't file last year. This year I filed with my 3 kids as dependents. I filed April 1,2020 and was accepted the same day. Now I've been on processing for nearly a month. No Stimulus. Just keeps repeatedly telling me they can't verify my eligibility. This is all so frustrating. I understand the delays and I fully expected them especially since all the cuts we made to IRS staffing but this is ridiculous to not even be able to get my stimulus because my tax refund is holding that up as well.
Ours is still processing from being accepted on 3/19, but we did receive a stimulus check. I think they based it off my 2018 taxes because it was 3 children ($1500) short of what it should have been.
We need to bring all of this to the news stations. I understand IRS is short staffed but the delays are longer than they should be.
Same here. Not able to speak with a live person.

Yeah! They should at least update their site to say that we may experience delays instead of still leaving the 21 day processing time up! My return was accepted March 19th, and I still says "processing" with "no refund date" for me as well.
Sad to say that if you filed a paper return they're not processing them yet, they have a trailers full of paper returns waiting to be processed. I filed a paper return in February because I moved last year and mine is still processed. Also I closed my bank account an opened a new one, so I'm waiting for my stimulus to be mailed to my old address even though the irs sent my transcript to my new address in March.
Thank you, but I filed electronically. I've seen notifications about paper return delays but not electronic ones, and it's very frustrating.
When your return is in additional processing, it usually means it is being reviewed by a human. So just because you filed electronically the IRS not functioning at full capacity is what is effecting the additional processing time.
Thanks CatinaT1 for the link. Unfortunately, no where on that page did they say anything about added delays to the 21 days estimate. I don't understand why they won't acknowledge that due to short staffing; refunds could take longer than the normal 21 days for those who filed electronically with direct deposit. Not to mention the fact they processed $200+ billion already in refunds. This is very concerning now because it makes me think that something probably is wrong with my returns and it is my fault even though I have been filing the same returns for several years and never had any problems with the IRS!
Very frustrating and hopeless situation we're in.
@CatinaT1 my concerns are in line with @chitowncabbie I'm just wondering why they're still saying electronic returns will still typically have refunds sent out within 21 days. It makes me wonder if something is wrong with my return too. Why not address delays with electronic returns specifically? I'm confused
I got that letter (had forgotten to submit this info) so submitted the information via fax on March 10th still havn't heard anything other than the "being processed status" refund had already been approved before asked for this info. Hopefully it will come soon.
Did you get a stimulus date AND refund date?
Help need my ippin# to amend return but collect ssi and don't really need to file?
Filed 3.30 2019 return electronically. Filed prior years by paper. No stimulus. No date. No refund updated info, only that its being processed. I had all my credit accts and car insurance on auto pay. Well since Covid 19 my new office job closed its doors, my acct has been overdrawn and my credit score has dropped 100 points. I'm 7 months pregnant with my 2nd child. I really need unemployment, stimulus and my refunds. 😭
