I mistakenly claimed scholarship money as taxable income, which made my "Wages" significantly higher. How can I amend this? Do I need to upgrade to amend this?

When I tried to amend this, there wasn't an option to resolve it that I could tell.  Any advice?  Do I need to upgrade to a non-free package to amend it through TurboTax?

You could not have taxable scholarship income using the FREE version so did you use the TT program to complete the originally filed return?   To amend the return online you will need to upgrade to the Deluxe version to get to the Education Deduction Section.  Of course the portion of the scholorship not used for qualifed education expenses is taxable and should be on line one with the wages.

@sotness0531 - can you explain more? scholarship income IS taxable, but you can reduce that scholarship income by the qualified educational expenses (See Form 1098-T which your school should have sent you plus any other QEE you may have).

did you just enter the scholarship as W-2 wages?
