I mailed signed forms but then realized my verification number was uploaded incorrectly so I e-filed-sent forms in to the fed and state. Will there be a hold or penalty?

I e-filed and mailed forms, long story but will I be penalized or will there be a hold on my return?

No, there should not be any hiccups. The IRS will process the return you filed electronically first simply because its a more efficient and quicker way to file, then when the mailed-in copies make it to the agency...it'll show as being entered, or processed already.
