So I filed with GOOD OLD TURBO TAX even PAID$119 and All that ended up on my return and refund was the EITC. The other 1/2 of My Advance Child Tax credit $3,000 wasnt even on my return. I have 2 kids ages 7 and 9 we got $3,000 in advance. So I even called the IRS and the agent I spoke with VERIFIED thaty wife and I are still OWED the $3000 and said something got screwed up on Turbo Taxs side.
I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO WAIT 4 MONTHS for my other $3,000 AND HAVE TO file an amended return. ESPECIALLY when I paid$119 for stupid turbo tax deluxe that did nothing. i would like you guys to FIX THIS get my $ money ASAP or I'll just have to file an amendment with H&R and I will never use Turbo Tax again .

What was on line 28 of your Form 1040? Did you receive $3000 between July and December? If so, then you should be seeing the other half---$3000---on line 28.
Federal>Deductions and Credits>You and Your Family>Child Tax Credit
The IRS is sending out letter 6419 to you. It will show the amount of advance child tax credit that you received during 2021. Enter the information from that letter carefully.
The remaining amount of CTC that you can receive will show up on line 28 of your 2021 Form 1040. Then it will calculate down to the refund you see on line 35a or the tax due on line 37.
PREVIEW 1040

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the screen. Click on Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Click on Preview my 1040 on the left side of the screen.
NOTE: The CTC is indeed a “credit” that can be applied toward any tax liability that you would otherwise have to pay as “tax due” to the IRS.
It's not showing ANYTHING on line 28. I already checked my 1040 the only credit I got on my refund was the EITC and no CTC. We received $3,000 in advance and should've have received the other half of the CTC on our tac return and I'm also wondering why I paid Turbo Tax $119 to MAKE SURE I got the MAXIMUM REFUND and I also voiced this concern when I was filing Online that night and Turbo Tax said NOT TO WORRY that would not let my tax filing go out with anything being wrong. I would like a refund for what I payed Turbo Tax and I'm gonna have to file and amended return now to get my other half of my Ctc payment with H&R Block who said they will get me the rest of my money $. I also called the IRS and agent CONFIRMED I should've had the other $3,000 included in my refund. So is Turbo tax gonna fix this or what ???
@Bradwh03241975 We cannot see your tax return. If you did not get the other half of the child tax credit on line 28 then either you made too much income to be eligible or you answered something incorrectly. Above certain income levels the child tax credit is phased out.
A5. Yes, if your 2021 income is high enough, the amount of Child Tax Credit you can claim will be reduced. The amount of your Child Tax Credit will not be reduced if your 2021 modified adjusted gross income (AGI) is at or below:
If you received EIC then your income would not be too high to receive the CTC, so that indicates you made an error when you answered questions about the child tax credit when you prepared your tax return. You needed to enter your children as dependents and you needed to answer the questions about letter 6419 correctly. If you answered correctly the other "half" of your CTC would have been on line 28. You can amend using TurboTax --not sure why you think you need to use a different software. When you amend pay very careful attention to the way you answer the questions for the advance payments and letter 6419.
Ok listen Im giving this one more chance for you guys. My wife and I had an AGI total filing as Married $26,000 range so we didnt make too much. We got $3,000 in advance for our 2 kids ages 7 & 9. When I was filing online with Turbo Tax it EVEN asked me I got a message that popped up asking me how I was feeling with the smiley faces and clicked on the bad one it asked why and I typed a message back STATING THAT my CTC wasnt computing PROPERLY knowing that we got $3,000 in advance basic math says we are owed the other 1/2 which is $3,000 right ? Then the message popped up from Turbo Tax online again telling me not to worry that everything would be double checked that they would look over my 1040 before it went out and anything was finalized. So with a sick feeling in my stomach I sent it though and it was done. I figured they would correct this for me... What did I pay $117 or if Im not getting my CTC included in my refund ? I would like that refunded to me as NOW i have to file an amended return . I even called the number for the IRS after filing and they confirmed after looking up my account that my CTC should be $3,000 and I should get that on my refund. I have both letters mine andy wifes $1500 on mine and $1500 on hers 2 dependents and entered it exactly how Turbo online said to but EVERY TIME it kept saying that we got an excess in payments ! Which is impossible. So are you gonna refund my $117 or do I need to email Intuit ?
