I'm preparing 1099s to e-file. Can I print a Form 1096 that shows the total number of forms and total amount reported?

Are you using the Online QEF program or the built in W2/1099 Reporter inside your program?

If you are using the QEF see this FAQ.  It's a couple years old so I don't know if they fixed it yet.  Let me know if it still prints one 1096 per person.

I'm using the online QEF program.  The "for state filing" does have a Form 1096 with the totals.  I don't have to file with the state, so I didn't  look there.  I just like to have a total page for my records.  Thanks for the info!

When you use TurboTax Quick Employer Forms to prepare and efile forms 1099-MISC, TurboTax will automatically include form 1096 with the efiling. You can also print copies of the forms 1099 and 1096 for your records.
